Wrapping up another one

Batman 694 is being wrapped up.   695 is half done, but I wish I was a little further along.  Lots of people are speculating on people like Penguin,  Riddler,  Helena...that's good.  Will everything be answered right away? Heck no.  Am I going to have fun with these developments? Heck yeah!

Preview tease for Batman 695

Just a piece of a much larger image from BATMAN 695.  Each issue I'm tinkering a bit with my rendering.  My work is always 'in progress'...the trick is staying consistent so it's not noticeable except (hopefully) looking a little cooler.  Thanks for all the great feedback regarding last week's Batman.  It may take another issue before all hell breaks loose in Dick's world.

Life After Death

So the book's out as of last Wednesday and the next issue comes out in less than two weeks. DC is cracking the whip on me to make sure I get these books out on their ship dates. Well, not whip-cracking, but perhaps a nudge or two.

ME - Hey Mike, the book is due on Monday. Can I buy some time?

Mike Marts (Batman editor) - sure - how's Monday night?

ME - .....you got it!

The first part of this arc had a lot of set up but I also managed to throw a little action in as well. Next issue we'll find out a little more about Reaper, the Falcones and what Kitrina is up to. Things will become clearer as each issue unfolds a new layer so stay tuned for more. I'm starting the art on 695 today so I've been able to keep pace (which help from the aforementioned whip-cracking). Let me know your thoughts. I can't spoil anything so excuse me if I seem evasive occasionally. ;)

Just a couple pages from the next issue of Batman, which comes out in a couple of weeks. I'm working on 694 now and starting to finalize the last couple of issues worth of story. Sorry for not updating much but I wanted to keep as much art under wraps as possible for this.

UPDATE TIME

Yes - finally I have updated. I have been really working hard lately and finding free time not as plentiful as before. Anyway - here's the finished, inked and colored version of the cover. You can see me roughing out the cover in the two movies posted below. My style is metamorphosing into a bit more real look now. I'm trying for more shadows, polished details and realistic features. I was looking through some of my old art on Teen Titans where i went in that direction and I think that was some of my best stuff. I think it's worth me pursuing to do it more and see where it goes. As the issues come out I should find my comfort zone within that.
